Turn Compatibility Data into Better Shopping Experiences

For many brands, answering product questions is only part of the challenge. Customers also need to know whether a product will work with what they already own. Whether it's a truck accessory designed for a specific vehicle or a replacement part that only works with certain equipment, shoppers often have one critical question before they buy: will this work for me?

Today, we're introducing the Remark Fitment API, a new way to bring compatibility data directly into the shopping experience. The Fitment API allows brands to define compatibility targets and associate them with products in their catalog. Once configured, Remark's AI assistant can help shoppers identify the vehicle, appliance, or equipment they own and use that information to surface compatible recommendations.

For example, an automotive brand can provide vehicle fitment data to Remark so that, during a conversation, our AI can help a shopper identify their specific vehicle and then automatically narrow results to products that fit. Instead of sorting through incompatible options, shoppers receive recommendations that are relevant to their needs from the start.

This unlocks a new category of questions that Remark can answer with confidence. Rather than simply explaining product features or specifications, Remark's AI agent can help determine whether a product is compatible with a shopper's existing setup. For brands with complex compatibility requirements, this creates a more helpful shopping experience while reducing uncertainty during the purchase journey.

Built to Work Behind the Scenes

The Fitment API is designed to work behind the scenes and integrate with existing systems. Compatibility data is managed through the API, giving brands complete control over how fitment information is structured and maintained. Once connected, Remark can use that data in real time to guide shoppers toward products that are right for them.

With the Fitment API, brands can deliver more accurate recommendations, answer compatibility questions more effectively, and help shoppers purchase with greater confidence.
